A /24 gives you 256 contiguous IPv4 addresses in one routable prefix. It is the standard starting point for organizations that need their own announced address space without committing to a larger block.

Best fit

When this option makes sense.

Size address space around the network you actually operate, then leave deliberate room for growth and operational separation.

IPV4 BLOCK/24
01

A first independently routed IPv4 prefix

02

A single service, POP, customer pool, or controlled egress range

03

Teams that need reverse DNS, registry records, geolocation work, and a usable LOA around one block

Plan the deployment

A practical first block

A /24 is the smallest commonly accepted IPv4 route on the public Internet. That makes it a practical unit when you want a prefix that can be announced through your ASN or your provider’s ASN rather than consuming individual addresses one at a time.

Route it deliberately

Route it through your network or ours

For an LOA-only lease, provide the origin ASN that will announce the prefix. It can be your carrier’s ASN. If you bundle the allocation with an eligible LogicWeb VPS or dedicated server, LogicWeb can configure the route for you and you do not need your own ASN.

Operate it well

Plan identity before production traffic

WHOIS/SWIP, RPKI/IRR, reverse DNS, and geolocation are separate parts of making a prefix production-ready. Decide what organization, origin ASN, PTR pattern, and requested location should be associated with the block before launch.

Lease operations

Infrastructure around the prefix matters too.

Exact support depends on address family, prefix, registry, and deployment. Confirm the final order details before routing production traffic.

Same-day LOA

Authorization is normally emailed during sales hours after payment and order checks.

WHOIS / SWIP

Company details and updates are included for eligible /24 and larger allocations.

Geolocation updates

Request a city and country when ordering or through a support ticket.

IRR & RPKI / ROA

Route objects and origin authorizations through ARIN or RIPE where supported by the block.

Reverse DNS

Delegate reverse DNS to your nameservers or request hosted PTR records. The published minimum is /24.

Optional rotation

The published option costs $25 per /24 per month. Confirm suitability and availability with sales.

Keep the use attributable and policy-compliant.Leased address space remains subject to LogicWeb’s IP Leasing Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. Larger pools increase the importance of customer attribution, complaint handling, and clean routing records.Read the IP Leasing Policy

Before you order

Common questions.

How many IPv4 addresses are in a /24?

A /24 contains 256 IPv4 addresses. How many are usable by your application depends on your routing and subnet design.

Can I announce a leased /24 from my ASN?

Yes, subject to the lease, order checks, routing policy, and the LOA. The origin ASN can also be your carrier’s if they will announce it for you.

Is reverse DNS available on a /24?

LogicWeb publishes reverse DNS support for /24 and larger allocations. You can request hosted PTR records or delegation to your nameservers.

From planning to production

Ready to put the prefix into production?

LogicWeb publishes IPv4 /24 through /18 and IPv6 /48, /32, and /29 lease options with routing and registry support.
