An IPv6 /32 is large provider-scale address space: it contains 65,536 separate /48 allocations and an enormous number of /64 subnets. It is intended for networks that need a durable hierarchical addressing plan, not simply “more IPs.”

Best fit

When this option makes sense.

Size address space around the network you actually operate, then leave deliberate room for growth and operational separation.

03

Organizations that need a long-lived IPv6 hierarchy across sites or regions

Plan the deployment

Design the hierarchy before assigning customers

A /32 gives you 16 bits between /32 and /48—65,536 possible /48 site or customer allocations. Use those bits deliberately for region, POP, product, customer class, or another stable hierarchy so the plan remains understandable years later.

Route it deliberately

IPv6 routing still needs origin authorization

Address abundance does not remove routing discipline. Plan the announcing ASN, IRR route6 objects where needed, RPKI authorization, reverse DNS delegation, and any more-specific advertisements before production.

Operate it well

Delegate generously without losing structure

IPv6 was designed to avoid IPv4-style address conservation. Many networks delegate /56 to residential/small-business customers and /48 to larger sites, while keeping /64 as the normal LAN subnet size. Choose a policy that fits your network and customer model.

Lease operations

Infrastructure around the prefix matters too.

Exact support depends on address family, prefix, registry, and deployment. Confirm the final order details before routing production traffic.

Same-day LOA

Authorization is normally emailed during sales hours after payment and order checks.

WHOIS / SWIP

Company details and updates are included for eligible /24 and larger allocations.

Geolocation updates

Request a city and country when ordering or through a support ticket.

IRR & RPKI / ROA

Route objects and origin authorizations through ARIN or RIPE where supported by the block.

Reverse DNS

Delegate reverse DNS to your nameservers or request hosted PTR records. The published minimum is /24.

Optional rotation

The published option costs $25 per /24 per month. Confirm suitability and availability with sales.

Before you order

Common questions.

How many /48s are inside an IPv6 /32?

There are 65,536 /48 prefixes inside a /32.

Is a /32 appropriate for one website or server?

Usually not. A /32 is provider-scale space; smaller deployments typically need far less. Use the IPv6 deployment calculator to size the requirement.

Can I route the /32 from my own ASN?

That is the normal model for an LOA-based deployment, subject to routing policy, verification, and the lease terms.

From planning to production

Ready to put the prefix into production?

LogicWeb publishes IPv4 /24 through /18 and IPv6 /48, /32, and /29 lease options with routing and registry support.
