Subscriber address capacity

IPv4 Leasing for ISPs & WISPs

Add routed IPv4 capacity for ISP and WISP subscriber growth while balancing public addresses, CGNAT, IPv6 deployment, and BGP routing.

What this page covers

ISPs and WISPs often need a bridge between limited IPv4 holdings, CGNAT, subscriber growth, and gradual IPv6 deployment. Leasing lets an operator add routed public space without the upfront capital required to purchase the block.

Best fit

When this option makes sense.

Size address space around the network you actually operate, then leave deliberate room for growth and operational separation.

Plan the deployment

Model subscribers, not just addresses

Start with the number of subscribers that truly require public IPv4, the sharing ratio you are comfortable using behind CGNAT, business customers that need dedicated addresses, infrastructure overhead, and a growth reserve. The result gives you a much better block-size target than simply ordering the next prefix up.

Route it deliberately

Bring your ASN or coordinate with your upstream

For an LOA-only lease, the address space must be originated by an ASN. That can be yours or your carrier’s. Confirm route acceptance, prefix filters, RPKI expectations, and IRR policy before the cutover window.

Operate it well

Use IPv4 leasing as part of an IPv6 plan

Leasing more IPv4 can relieve immediate pressure, but it does not replace IPv6. Pair public IPv4 capacity with an IPv6 addressing plan so new subscriber and infrastructure growth is not tied indefinitely to scarce IPv4.

Lease operations

Infrastructure around the prefix matters too.

Exact support depends on address family, prefix, registry, and deployment. Confirm the final order details before routing production traffic.

Same-day LOA

Authorization is normally emailed during sales hours after payment and order checks.

WHOIS / SWIP

Company details and updates are included for eligible /24 and larger allocations.

Geolocation updates

Request a city and country when ordering or through a support ticket.

IRR & RPKI / ROA

Route objects and origin authorizations through ARIN or RIPE where supported by the block.

Reverse DNS

Delegate reverse DNS to your nameservers or request hosted PTR records. The published minimum is /24.

Optional rotation

The published option costs $25 per /24 per month. Confirm suitability and availability with sales.

Keep the use attributable and policy-compliant.Leased address space remains subject to LogicWeb’s IP Leasing Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. Larger pools increase the importance of customer attribution, complaint handling, and clean routing records.Read the IP Leasing Policy

Before you order

Common questions.

Can a WISP lease IPv4 instead of buying it?

Yes. A lease provides use of the addresses for the lease term while ownership remains with the address holder.

Do I need my own ASN?

Not necessarily. LogicWeb’s published terms allow the origin ASN to be your carrier’s if they will announce the prefix for you.

How do I compare leasing with CGNAT?

Use the LogicWeb IPv4 vs CGNAT calculator to model public-address lease cost against your own CGNAT platform, operations, and subscriber assumptions.

From planning to production

Need address space for this workload?

LogicWeb publishes IPv4 /24 through /18 and IPv6 /48, /32, and /29 lease options with routing and registry support.
