Do you get an SSL certificate 'mismatch domain' or 'domain name mismatch' in your browser when logging into your Cpanel area or Webmail? This is perfectly normal because you are logging into the control panel or webmail in secure mode (2096 or 2083). The certificate is indeed self signed by the Cpanel software itself.
Due to IE\'s many many problems and lack of standards/compliance, we cannot do much especially since we\'re not the ones who designed cpanel itself.
We recommend browsers such as Firefox, Opera or the new Google Chrome. They allow you to install/save the certificate to your browser to avoid the warning in the future.
You may try this somewhat old method:

To quote Cpanel About this Browser Warning:
The Default https://ip:2087 (or 2083) uses a self-signed SSL Certificated, thats why you an get SSL warning when you try to access using the browser which does not have your SSL certificate auth saved in. If the customer accessed one time and not cleared the SSL certificate cache, they will not get the same warning again.
If you don\'t want that warning, you need to get your own SSL certificate for your server IP or domain, and install it for WHM and CPanel. This will remove the SSL warning when you try to access the secure port.
The default setup does offer decent security, but it gives a warning saying this is a self-signed certificate
